Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
All services are self-pay, most are based on a salary driven sliding scale. Insurance rarely covers holistic wellness or hypnotherapy. Insurance also requires a diagnosis in order for them to pay and since I do not diagnose clients (please see the “About” section to read more on this) they would be unlikely to cover therapy regardless.
What do you specialize in?
Addiction (individuals and/or family members)
Depression
Anxiety
Sexual Issues
Pre-Marital Counseling
Stress Management
Grief and Loss
Life Stage Transitions
Self-Esteem
Holistic Wellness (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, occupational, and relational)
Disease Prevention through Nutrition
These are just a few areas of practice and whether it is holistic wellness, counseling, or hypnotherapy as the modality of treatment is entirely up to your comfort.

How do I schedule a session? Then what?
You may send a message under “Contact Me” with your requested service, a brief overview of the problem and who would be attending the session. I will answer any questions you have and then send a “Client Intake” and “Consent For (Your Service)” forms for you to fill out and e-mail back prior to your session. I will then send a secure link for your session. *DO NOT SHARE THIS LINK*. The first session is generally getting to know you and anyone else involved in the process, understanding the problem from your perspective, and determining goals.
In Hypnosis sessions, the first session is all information gathering so hypnosis would not begin until session 2. Though we may do a brief induction and deepener just to determine your susceptibility to hypnosis.
After your first Holistic Nutrition or Coaching appointment I will take the information you provide and create a plan for you within one week. This gives you three weeks to start implementing the plan and upon the next meeting we can determine what, if any, changes need to happen.
Are you licensed and insured?
I am fully insured through CPH & Associates. I am fully certified as a Holistic Nutritionist as well as hypnotherapy. I graduated in June of 2020 with my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have an associate license which requires me to receive 2 more years of supervision before I an “unrestricted.” This is a process all therapists go through. Your privacy is always the top priority and is maintained even in supervision.
What does confidentiality REALLY mean?
Confidentiality is to protect the client’s identity and anything they share in session, regardless of the method you choose. This means I will never confirm or deny us working together and I will never share anything you tell me in session without prior written consent. However, you are in charge of your confidentiality, meaning, what you tell someone is up to you. HOWEVER, there are limits to confidentiality (which I will remind you of before your first session). These limits are in instances where someone reports thoughts of self-harm or harm to someone else, current physical or sexual abuse or previously unreported physical and sexual abuse. At that point I become a “mandated reporter” and I must report those things to the proper channels. Scheduling and necessary paperwork will always be done in person or over the phone, this should not be done in text or email to further protect your privacy.
Is hypnosis really like I see in TV and movies?
Hypnosis is NOTHING like on TV and in movies. Hypnosis is a way to bring your unconscious into the conscious so that issues may be dealt with directly. You are fully aware of everything said during a hypnosis session and you can NEVER be made to do anything you wouldn’t do intentionally in an awakened state.
The process starts with an induction, where I get you into a relaxed state. Then you will be given a deepener, which is similar to the induction, only it is longer and designed to get you to a fully relaxed state. Think of this state as that point between being awake and falling asleep. (If you do fall asleep during this portion that is okay!) Then we go into the suggestion portion of the hypnosis. This is where you will be given suggestions for change based on the information you’ve provided in the first session.
What is the difference between holistic nutrition and holistic coaching?
Holistic Nutrition focuses solely on utilizing nutrition as a form of disease/illness prevention and treatment. It can also be used as a way to begin eating healthier or lose weight by learning to eat fun and enjoyable meals rather than boring diet foods. You will learn long-term sustainable life-style changes so you are never starving, binging, or feeling deprived. It is important to still follow-up with your primary care doctor if you utilize holistic nutrition for disease/illness treatment as it is a complimentary factor rather than a replacement. You will also learn about how to use supplements to help achieve the most benefit.
Holistic Coaching offers this aspect, but we will also explore the other 5 areas of wellness that you need to truly be “well.” We will work on ways to become more active, ways to fulfill your spiritual, mental, occupational, intellectual, and relational needs in ways that are unique to you and your likes.
What is the “package” option?
Let’s say your goal is to lose weight. You may want to bundle the holistic nutrition or coaching with hypnotherapy. Or, hypnotherapy with traditional counseling. If you are doing the holistic wellness with the hypnotherapy you will have one holistic session, likely at the end of the month, and three to four hypnosis sessions, meeting once per week. If you combine hypnosis with traditional therapy you will meet just once per week and depending on your progress and needs that session may be either therapy or hypnosis.
